Applicants must be US citizens of permanent residents. This is a long-standing requirement for the NSF IRES program.
Applicants should have a background in one or more of the following areas, or a related field: computer science, electrical and computer engineering, human factors, and psychology. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply.

In the application form, applicants will be asked include the following information:
- CV (up to 2 pages)
- Brief statement of research interests (up to 2000 characters)
- Academic transcript (please send unofficial immediately, and request an official transcript to send later)
- Statement indicating that the applicant is a US citizen or permanent resident (if selected for participation proof will be required)
- Name and email of 2 references
For full consideration applications should be submitted by January 26, 2024. We expect to notify successful applicants around February 26, 2024.
